➤ link to English Country Dance venues◊ The National Folk Festival, folkfestival.asn.au, is the largest dance (and folk music) event in the country. It takes place over the Easter long weekend at Exhibition Park in Canberra. [18 - 22 April 2019] Five nights and four days of music, dance, workshops etc. English Country dancing is part of the festival.
◊ The North American band Roguery (Dave Bartley, Shira Kammen, Anita Anderson) together with dance leader and devisor Brook Friendly (brookefriendlydance.com) perform at the 2019 National followed by Hobart on 26-28 April and Cairns 3-5 May.
◊ The Jane Austen Festival Australia, janeaustenfestival.com, is held in Canberra each April. [11-14 April 2019]
◊ Bundanoon Dance Weekend, June long weekend. [7-10 June 2019]. English Country is often featured in a workshop and/or appears in programme of the social dances.
